Conference and MEST Pitch Session
On the 28th of April, CCI France Ghana in partnership with Phanerosis Global Platform organised a conference to discuss cryptocurrencies in Africa and its implications & opportunities for Ghana. The conference was followed by a Pitch Session facilitated by MEST Africa.
The conference was moderated by Precious Eshun Baidoo (General Secretary of Digital Finance Practitioners Ghana) with seasoned panellists George Babafemi (Executive Director of eTranzact Ghana), Emile Parfait Simb (CEO & Founder of Simb Group & Global Investment Trading) and Ashwin Ravichandran (Managing Director of MEST Ghana).
The Executive Director of eTranzact Ghana, George Babafemi, has urged the teeming youth with a budding interest in cryptocurrency to exercise patience for the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) expected to be issued by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) to be rolled out first to set the tune and provide guidelines to regulate the space for risk management reasons [thebftonline.com].
The conference was followed by a pitch session from 5 companies currently part of the incubator program of MEST Africa. These 5 companies expose their innovative solutions about fintech.
