CCI France Ghana Partners with MEST Africa to host Fintech Breakfast Meeting

The event was themed; "Corporate-startup partnerships for fintech innovation in Africa"...

On the 25th of October, CCI France Ghana in partnership with MEST Africa hosted the "Fintech Breakfast Meeting" which aims to connect fintech startups and entrepreneurs to corporates within the industry in order to catalyze corporate-startup partnerships.

Moderated by Leila Khalid, Head of Marketing and Community at MEST Africa, the 2-panel discussion was led by seasoned speakers in the finance, tech and legal industries.

Speakers for the 1st Panel were;

  • Priscilla Wepia Ametame ~ Legal Associate, B&P Associates
  • George Adjebeng ~ Head, Multichannels & Innovation, Société Générale Ghana
  • Georgette Amoako ~ Propositions Manager for SMEs, ABSA Bank Ghana

Speakers for the 2nd Panel were;

  • Solomon Agbemenya ~ Head of Wallets, FIDO
  • Thompson Sakyi ~ Director, AirtelTigo Money
  • Abisola O. Ogunbadejo Senior Legal Associate, B&P Associates
  • Michael Costa ~ Co-Founder, Spark

The discussions were based on corporate innovation (how it applies to and affects corporate-startup partnerships in the Fintech sector), and most importantly how crucial it is for startups to prioritize knowing and understanding their compliance obligations to avoid making legal errors.

The conference was followed by a pitch session from 3 startup companies in the fintech space from the MEST Africa community.
