For over two decades, pupils of Hordzo JHS, have been studying in a dilapidated structure. The situation over the years has led to some pupils moving to other schools in the municipality, while those who have no option continue to study there. To alleviate their plight, CalBank together with Xornam Foundation, have constructed a 3-unit classroom block with an ICT lab to facilitate teaching and learning.
The project forms part of CalBank and the Xornam Foundation’s corporate social responsibility and also aimed at offering educational assistance to deprived communities. Pupils of Hordzo Ve JHS in the Ho Municipality will now have access to quality education in a serene environment after they received a 3-unit classroom block with an ICT lab built by CalBank and the Xornam Foundation.
Speaking with Citi News after the commissioning and handing over ceremony, Managing Director of CalBank, Philip Owiredu, said, his outfit is determined to eliminate illiteracy in the country, hence the decision to put up a better structure for the pupils.
